Launchpad: managed servers and a Claude Code connector

Taking your app live

Taking your app live

Your app works on your laptop. Here's how to put it online with Launchpad, in one conversation with Claude.

You've built something with Claude and it works on your machine. Getting it online is the part where most people get stuck, and it's the part Launchpad exists for. Here's the whole thing, in plain English.

Before you start

  • The Launchpad connector is installed in the Claude desktop app (Adding the connector).
  • You have your secret key (Create your account).
  • Your app is in a folder on your computer, and you can open that folder in Claude Code.

1. Open your project in Claude Code

In the Claude desktop app, open the Code tab and start a session in your app's folder. Make sure the Launchpad connector is switched on for the session.

2. Ask Claude to launch a server

Say something like:

Launch a Launchpad server for this app and let me know when it's ready. My secret key is in launchpad-key.txt.

Claude asks Launchpad for a private server. It takes a few minutes. When it's ready, Claude will tell you the web address your app has been given (something like brave-otter.asklaunchpad.com).

3. Ask Claude to put it live

Put this app live on the new server.

This is the step that used to take a weekend. Claude does the whole thing inside the conversation: it copies your app to the server, installs anything it needs, sets up the database, makes the app start automatically, connects it to your web address, and checks that it's working. If something isn't right, Claude reads the error and fixes it.

4. Share the link

When Claude says it's done, open the address in your browser. That's your app, online, on its own server. Send the link to whoever needs it.

Making changes after it's live

You don't start over. Open the same project in Claude Code, describe the change, and say "update the live app". Claude makes the change, pushes it to your server and checks it. The link stays the same.

If your app stores information

If your app keeps data, such as bookings, requests or customer records, Claude sets up a database on your server for it. The database is backed up automatically. If something goes wrong, ask us for a restore.

If you're on a locked-down network

Some office networks only allow web traffic. Claude notices when the usual connection isn't possible and switches to Launchpad's secure web-based deploy automatically. Nothing changes for you.

If you get stuck

Every early crew gets a human at mission control for their first launch. Email us with the name of your server and what Claude last said, and we'll get you live.
